Counter-Strike 2 had a very successful launch in late 2023. The game has several new features and quality of life improvements and over time has had vast performance improvements thanks to Valve. That said, you can't skimp out on the PC if you're hoping for the best performance.
CS2 isn't a draining game when it comes to your system, but if you want the best experience you'll need to make sure your PC is up to scratch. Here's a dive into the system requirements for CS2.
Counter-Strike 2 minimum system requirements
According to the official CS2 Steam page, these are the minimum system requirements for the game on PC:

- OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11
- CS2 can be played on Linux, but is not available on Mac OS.
- Processor: At least 4 hardware CPU threads: Intel i5 750 or higher
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Graphics: Video card must have 1 GB of VRAM or more. Must be DirectX 11-compatible with support for Shader Model 5.0
- DirectX: Version 11
- Storage: 85 GB available space
Note: When downloading additional workshop items or maps, expect the total game file to be larger than 85 GB. We recommend clearing at least 100 GB for CS2.
