The moment everyone was waiting for: Team Vitality vs G2 Esports

As one of the most-anticipated games, Team Vitality and G2 Esports will give us everything to keep going strong in the tournament. Two teams that haven't faced each other in a while will now have a chance to prove who is the best European organization in VALORANT.

Team Vitality hasn't lost a game yet, and they don't want to do it now. They delivered top-tier performances against both the VCT Pacific teams, T1 and DRX. G2 Esports started well, had a rough match against EDG where they lost, and came back strong like they never did after defeating Team Liquid.

Both teams are thirsty for victories, and Masters Bangkok is the perfect place to get them. Will Team Vitality manage to keep their match record clean without a loss? Or will G2 Esports be able to end their superiority?

VIT vs G2: Match recaps

Come back to this section after each match.

Map 1: Bind

Vitality came with full power and won the pistol round. Their movements were cold as ice as they were playing in a way where everything was very calculated. Meanwhile, G2 Esports was having a hard time answering to that strategy. After losing the bonus round, G2 managed to win the fourth round and work on putting pressure on Team Vitality. G2 was slowly winning some rounds and building their advantage. But Derke was determined to prove who was better. With a Vandal, no shield, and a dream, Derke aced G2 Esports and regained the advantage for his team.

Less clutched the pistol round with incredible shots and guaranteed one more round for Vitality. The team's synergy was on point, and the positioning made it possible to catch G2 players from behind on various occasions. The second half was more disputed, with crazy flicks and shots from both teams. But Vitality was just so clean at clutch situations that ended up being game-changing. However, G2 did not give up on this game that easily. They slowly closed the gap in the score. The first map went into overtime.

In a messy round full of abilities and crazy shots by VIT Kicks, jawgemo ended up clutching the round for G2 Esports. What a round! Both teams were serving an amazing first map for the VALORANT fans. Even with a great round by leaf, Vitality won the second round and kept going into overtime. But G2 was determined to win the first map, and there was nothing more Vitality could do. The first map went to G2 Esports.

In a slow round and a 1v2, Sayf managed to kill the remaining players. However, there wasn't enough time to defuse the spike. G2 won the pistol round. Their confidence was on another level. G2 was destroying the first rounds, forcing Vitality to ask for a timeout. Less was annoyed about this start and made a 3k with a sheriff. What a great eco round for Vitality to regain some confidence! In the next round, Derke even killed Less accidentally with a Raze grenade. So, it's unlucky for Vitality after a great round.

G2 was just too confident and consistent in the game. But there was something about Vitality's sheriffs because of the game-changing shots. They won a round after Sayf's three kills with a sheriff. They were the deagle demons. That round was vital for closing the score gap.

Team Vitality was just built differently. They came in with a totally different mindset after that timeout. They didn't even look like the same team from the previous rounds. By the second half, the score was tied 6-6. The second half started with a pistol round going for G2 Esports. After winning both the force and the bonus rounds, the game seemed to be over for Vitality. Another timeout helped Vitality win two rounds in a row and put G2 in a difficult position. But G2's macro was just better.

Team Vitality fought hard to change the course of the game, but there was only so much they could do. G2 ended Vitality's no-loss history and advanced to the next stage. Their next battle will be, once again, against EDG.
