Top 8

The top 8 part was kind of a demonstration of power for Pakistani TEKKEN. ATIF and THE JON defeated their opponents in the semi-finals: CHANEL and Infested from Korea. In the lower brackets, Dawood Sikandar eliminated Knee.

It is interesting to notice a good variety of characters at the FV Major 2024 TEKKEN 8 tournament. Sure, there were three Dragunov mains in the top 8, including the winner. But also, THE JON brought King to the fights, and he managed to defeat Mulgold in top 32. Dawood Sikandar and CHANEL played Alisa. AK chose Shaheen for most fights.

In the winners final. THE JON had some good moments, but still, ATIF proved that he reached the Evo 2024 top 2 for a reason.

The grappler’s power was at its best in the match vs AK. THE JON looked unstoppable. But in the grand final, that impression evaporated, as ATIF did not let his opponent win even one game.

ATIF is a TEKKEN 8 Champion at FV Major 2024. Congratulations!

FV Major 2024: A TEKKEN World Tour 2024 Challenger event

The main reason for the top-level TEKKEN players to travel to Malaysia is to grind for TWT points. Considering how close Korea, Pakistan, and Japan are located, it is no surprise that the status of FV Major as a Challenger qualifier attracts some of the best TEKKEN 8 competitors.

The global leaderboard is merciless, and if you are not among the top 20 players, you are simply out of the TWT 2024 Finals. It is certainly a good idea to get every point possible to your name to feel secure. Even Arslan "Arslan Ash" Siddique does such grinding — he attended a Challenger event in Italy, Only The Best 2024, before winning TEKKEN 8 at Evo 2024.

Top players to watch out for

  • Rangchu — As 4th on the leaderboard, Rangchu has not won a major event yet. But he is so often in the top 3.
  • LowHigh — The player certainly knows the power of grinding, as even with no major victories, LowHigh is 5th on the TWT 2024 leaderboard.
  • Chikurin — The winner of TEKKEN 8 Evo Japan 2024 dropped to 6th place, so Chikurin is full of motivation to fight at the FV Major.
