Riot Games has announced an upcoming Teamfight Tactics (TFT) esports event. Read on for everything to know about the 2024 TFT Macao Open, including the full schedule, prize pool, ticket sale dates, and more!

TFT Macao Open schedule

The TFT Macao Open tournament will happen between Dec. 13 and Dec. 15. It will feature 512 competitors in total, and they will duke it out in TFT Set 13. This set will launch before the event kicks off, according to Riot Games. In total, the tournament will feature six rounds before the TFT Macao Open Finals on Day 3.

Day 1Round 1A total of 512 players will be split into lobbies of 8 and play 3 games each.
The top 4 point earners from each lobby will advance to Round 2.
Round 2A total of 256 players will be split into lobbies of 8 and play 3 games each.
The top 4 point earners per lobby will advance in the competition.
Round 3A total of 128 players will be split into lobbies of 8 and play 3 games each.
The top 4 point earners per lobby will advance in the competition.
Day 2Round 4A total of 64 players will be split into lobbies of 8 and play 3 games each.
The top 4 point earners per lobby will advance in the competition.
Round 5A total of 32 players will be split into lobbies of 8 and play 3 games each.
The top 4 point earners per lobby will advance in the competition.
Round 6A total of 16 players will be split into lobbies of 8 and play 4 games each.
The top 4 point earners from each lobby will move on to the TFT Macao Open Finals.
Day 3FinalsThe top 8 players will play in a checkmate format.
The first player to earn 20 points and then get 1st place in a game will be named the champion.

TFT Macao Open seeding and points

In terms of the seeding, players will initially be seeded based on their TFT Set 12: Magic n' Mayhem ranking. Throughout the tournament, points will be awarded to each player based on their game results as well.

Additionally, note that the cutoff date for Set 12 ranked snapshots will be Sept. 2 at 12:15 a.m. server time.

A prize pool of $300,000 USD will be on the line, but only the top 128 players will receive a share of it. However, all players will get an event-exclusive emote for the game based on their placement.

TFT Macao Open passes

Folks will be able to buy TFT Macao Open passes starting Sept. 3 at 5 a.m. PT. There will be spectator and competitor passes up for grabs. Spectator passes will cost $150 USD. Meanwhile, competitor passes will start at $399 USD. Master+ players will get a discount, making their bundle $299 USD instead. Meanwhile, Challenger and Tactician's Crown players will get a discount to make their bundle cost $199 USD.
