Everything you need to know for Set 9 TFT patch 13.13

With the expansion of the Teamfight Tactics (TFT) development and balance team, the upcoming TFT patch 13.13 is going to be a huge one. While many have expressed their relative satisfaction to the opening patch of Set 9, the team has been hard at work in making the game even better for the player base. This patch will be in effect for three weeks, until July 19, as it coincides with the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Since this is a large patch, this article will highlight some of the most impactful changes mentioned by TFT lead designer Stephen "Mortdog" Mortimer. Links to all of the changes will be provided below.

With the experience changes, it has made it difficult for some players to safely make it to Level 8 without feeling the need to roll all of their gold at Level 7 to compete with the rest of the lobby. To counteract this, the base damage in Stage 4 will be reduced by 1. This should allow players to be healthier and potentially have chances to reach Level 8 more often before feeling forced to spend all of their gold at Level 7.

One of the standouts of the patch is the overwhelming power of Piltover paired with Zeri. The Piltover T-Hex power is receiving a substantial nerf, and in return, the cashouts are being buffed slightly.

The power of Garen and Ekko in their reroll compositions was a bit overtuned. The upcoming patch will take down their power levels a bit in order to keep them in line with the rest of the meta.

Compared to the other four-cost carries, Gwen was not quite a premiere carry in the meta. Next patch is looking to change that, with buffs to her HP and Spell Damage. Additionally, Kai'Sa is receiving a mana buff which should balance out the mana-gaining bug that she currently has. Aphelios's nerf is incredibly minor as it does not affect his auto-attacks or ultimate. It's just a slight adjustment in preparation for all the other changes to four-cost carry compositions.

The strongest 4-cost carry in the game, Zeri, is receiving quite a big nerf. At 1-star and 2-star, her overcharge AD% is being reduced significantly and kills will no longer reset the duration of her Surge. Other champion changes reflect underperformances of units that the team wanted to address.

There are quite a few balance changes happening to items, but the highlight for this patch is the adjustment to aura items. Chalice of Power and Zeke's Herald will be stronger for the holder of the item and weaker for those being buffed by the item in order to level out the strength of stacking them.

There are too many augment adjustments and bug fixes to list here, but Mindful One put out a graphic that details which legends are receiving buffs and nerfs to their tailored augments to create some more parity in their strength.
