The regional events of RLCS Season 21-22 are wrapping up with the Spring Major at the end of this month. The Spring Major, or dearly called LANdon by the community, is going to be held at the Copper Box Arena in London, England from June 29th to July 3rd 2022.

What is the prize pool for RLCS Spring Major?

Similar to the Fall Major and Winter Major, the Spring Split Major has a total prize pool of $300 000 USD. The prize pool distribution differs slightly as follows:

  • 1st: $90 000 USD
  • 2nd: $60 000 USD
  • 3rd: $30 000 USD
  • 4th: $24 000 USD
  • 5th – 6th: $18 000 USD
  • 7th – 8th: $12 000 USD
  • 9th – 12th: $6 000 USD
  • 13th - 16th: : $3 000 USD

What are the RLCS Circuit Ranking Points for the RLCS Spring Major?

The prize pool came with a side of RLCS Ranking Points, which will be used to evaluate who is going to the World Championship this August. It is the heaviest point distribution among all the Majors, with the first place gaining 801 points.

  • 1st: 801 points
  • 2nd: 700 points
  • 3rd: 600 points
  • 4th: 500 points
  • 5th – 6th: 420 points
  • 7th – 8th: 360 points
  • 9th – 12th: 260 points
  • 13th - 16th: : 160 points

What is the format for RLCS Spring Major?

The organizer recently announced the opening matchup for the Major. The tournament will take on a different format from the other Majors with a 16-teams 3v3 Double Elimination Bracket with a best of five (Bo5) and best of seven (Bo7).

  • Upper Bracket: Round 1 and Quarterfinals are Bo5. The semi-finals and Finals are Bo7.
  • Lower Bracket: Round 1, Round 2 and Round 3 are Bo5. The Quarterfinals, Semi-finals and Finals are Bo7.
  • Grand Finals are Bo7 with a Bracket Reset, where the team coming from the Lower Finals must win two Bo7 series.

Who is going to go to the RLCS Spring Major?

Sixteen teams are going to compete for the champion title. We are seeing the return of the last Majors champions, G2 Esports and Team BDS, in a run to secure their second Major title. We are also seeing new faces in the major scene, namely Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators.

Most of the teams have already secured their spot in the World Championship. Teams that are still hanging by a thread are Pioneers, Karmine Corp, Team Liquid, Team Envy, Spacestation Gaming, and Version1. This Major is their last chance in making it to the World.

Full schedule for the RLCS Spring Major still unannounced

As of now, the full schedule is yet to be released.

The stadium is open to the crowd on July 2nd and July 3rd, with the matches being the Lower Bracket Round 3, Lower Quarter-Finals, the Semi-Finals, the Finals and the Grand Finals.
