Oxygen Esports and Invictus Gaming will use their coach at the Six Sweden Major.

The Rainbow Six official Twitter account has announced that Oxygen esports player, Davide "FoxA" Bucci, has tested positive for COVID. As a result, he will not be able to travel to Sweden to compete in the Six Major. The team’s coach, Anthony "HOP3Z" Nizzardo, will play in his stead. This news comes soon after Invictus Gaming announced they would be using their coach at the Major.

Oxygen Esports to Use Coach at the Six Major

Two other players have come in contact with the affected player, although the announcement does not mention any names. The players will be in isolation in their hotel rooms on arrival.

One of Oxygen Esports’ players has tested positive for COVID-19 before the departure flight to Sweden and is no longer able to compete at the event. As per sanitary protocol in place for the Six Sweden Major, the player will be replaced by the team’s coach.

The rest of the squad has tested negative multiple times, but two players who were in close contact will be in isolation till November 12. The Six Sweden Major kicks off on November 8 and will continue till November 14.

While all remaining members of Oxygen esports have tested negative multiple times since then, two of the players qualify as contact cases and will therefore be placed in isolation in their hotel rooms upon arrival.[..] Both players will remain in isolation until Friday, November 12 and will be cleared pending a negative PCR test result at that date.

Oxygen esports qualified to the Six Sweden Major after placing second in the North American league. The team lost just two games in the season, once to DarkZero esports and another to Spacestation Gaming. Spacestation Gaming topped the League with seven wins and just one loss.

HysteRiX unable to play due to Military Duty

A few days ago, Invictus Gaming announced they will be using their coach at the Six Sweden Major. HysteRiX is unable to play at the Six Major as he would not get any more leaves from the Singapore National Services, having already utilized his leaves earlier this year, according to Siege.gg

The news was not a complete surprise for Invictus Gaming, although they tried their best to ensure he can play. Unfortunately, it was not to be and IG needs to pull out something exceptional at the Six Major.

The Six Sweden Major will see the best R6 teams descend at the Gasklockorna for glory and a $500,000 prize pool.
