16 teams will compete, but only one will become the world champion. Here’s who we think are the best teams in the list.

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M4 World Championship is set to take place from Jan. 1 to 15, 2023. While there are still two months to go for the competition, all 16 teams in the event have been locked in.

The M4 World Championship is taking place in Jakarta, Indonesia for the first time. Indonesia is one of the biggest regions for Mobile Legends and in the fourth edition of the M World Championship, the event is finally coming to the country. Besides the title of world champions, the 16 teams will be competing for the lion’s share of the $800,000 prize pool.

The group stage of the M4 World Championship will take place at the MPL Arena in Jakarta while the playoffs will happen at the Istora Senayan GBK, per Liquipedia. The exact format for the event and the ticketing information hasn’t been revealed yet.

Teams to look out for

The defending world champions Blacklist International are one of the teams to look out for at the M4 World Championship. The team had an awful start to the 2022 season as they placed a low seventh in the MPL Philippines.

The team has since found its rhythm, though, with first place at the SEA Games, and they have also won the MPL Philippines Season 10. They will be one of the favorites to successfully defend their title in Indonesia.

Besides Blacklist, another team to look out for from the Philippines itself is RSG PH. While many wouldn’t have considered them a strong team ahead of the 2022 season, they have proved their naysayers wrong with an astounding victory at the Mobile Legends SEA Cup 2022. They also won the MPL Philippines Season 9 and placed third in the previous edition.

Another team to look out for at the Mobile Legends M4 World Championship is NA’s sole representative, The Valley. They are certainly coming into the tournament as one of the underdogs, but they could be a force to reckon with.

The team includes three members of the BTK squad, which placed third in the M3 World Championship last year. They have dominated in the local tournament, the NACT, and will be hungry for victory in Indonesia.

Lastly, Onic Esports, the first seed from Indonesia, will be carrying a lot of expectations on its shoulder as the home team. The team has had a great season locally with a second and first-place finish in the MPL Indonesia Seasons 9 and 10, respectively. They struggled internationally, though, with a group stage elimination at the MSC 2022. Competing on their home turf, however, is bound to make a difference and they are one team to look out for.
