Stop using AI in Arcane

Kammelin, a former Fortiche Studios production assistant commented on X about the AI versions of Arcane characters circling on social media, heavily criticizing this type of "personification" and disrespect over animation workers. "I'm profoundly opposed to this kind of approach. Our artists have worked hard for years to produce the most beautiful shots possible, to me it's a huge lack of respect", he commented.

It was not only Fortiche, responsible for Arcane animation, that reacted to this matter. Many fans have been criticizing the constant necessity to turn everything into hyperrealism and use AI pictures. The fans demanded more respect for the animation workers and the hours involved in creating "unique and beautiful animation". Another fan called the responsible out for the "homogeneous pornified look AI seems to automatically give to only women".

Netflix and the AI extended poster

A few days ago, Netflix was called out for sharing a Jinx/Vi poster extended version made with AI. Riot Astyx, brand lead for Riot Games and Arcane music, commented on a fan post saying Riot Games "have a strict stance of no AI for anything relating to Arcane cause it's disrespectful to the incredible artists who worked on the show". The picture was later removed.
