Post-Spring Split LoL roster moves Mega-thread: Nisqy signs as MAD Lions’ mid laner

As the best teams from each region prepare for the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational, many of the lower-placed finishers - and some of the top ones - are changing their lineups for the upcoming Summer Split. Esports.gg is here to bring you guys the ultimate LoL roster moves mega thread! We will be covering every move that goes down in the LEC and LCS.

May 6

After not finding a team in the offseason despite a good performance in 2020, Nisqy will be MAD Lions' mid laner for the summer split.

Nisqy replaces outgoing rookie Reeker on the roster. Formerly the mid laner of teams like Cloud9 and Fnatic, Nisqy brings pedigree to a MAD Lions lineup that finished 7th this split and failed to make playoffs, after winning both splits last year. MAD Lions are aiming for a better performance, and Nisqy has shown time and again that he's capable of it.

May 4

TSM have signed Maple from Anyone's Legend in the LPL to be their new starting mid laner.

A veteran of the Asian scene, Maple is best known for his time on Taiwanese teams such as Flash Wolves and PSG Talon. He's played against TSM several times in international competitions. With PSG Talon, he managed to make the quarterfinals of MSI last year. However, his spring split was poor: he only played four series, going 2-8, as Anyone's Legend limped to a 13th place finish in China.

As Mia, who was expected to be TSM's LCS support, has instead signed to their Academy team, this may be TSM's last roster move of the offseason.

Longtime LCS jungler Jake "Xmithie" Puchero is returning to the LCS scene as the new head coach of TSM Academy.

Xmithie has played professional League since 2011. Once a jungler for CLG, Immortals and Team Liquid, and with multiple Worlds appearances under his belt, Xmithie left the LCS scene after a a disappointing 2020 season with Immortals. However, he makes a return here with a retooling TSM Academy lineup that has already added support Choi "Mia" Sang-in and top laner Alex "Soul" Luo this offseason.

MAD Lions have released their mid laner from Spring, Steven "Reeker" Chen.

Reeker was touted as a big prospect in mid lane before joining MAD Lions for spring. Though he had some good moments, MAD ultimately finished 7th and failed to make playoffs. For a team that won both splits last year, it was a big disappointment. A report from Upcomer suggests that former Cloud9 and Fnatic mid laner Yasin "Nisqy" Dinçer will replace Reeker.

May 3

Astralis' roster rebuild continues as they've signed outgoing Immortals jungler Xerxe.

Xerxe's time in North America was mixed, ultimately finishing poorly as Immortals ended spring split 10th in the LCS. The move reunites Xerxe with Visicsacsi and Kobbe, who he qualified for Worlds with as part of Splyce in 2019.

Immortals have made their first roster move of the offseason by signing free agent support IgNar.

Despite a successful few years with FlyQuest and Evil Geniuses in the LCS, IgNar was unable to find a team for spring split. However, he's back for summer as he replaces the released Mitchell "Destiny" Shaw. Immortals finished 10th in the spring split despite being projected to finish higher. IgNar is an experienced and skilled support who should help Immortals regain their footing. In addition, a report by Upcomer suggests that current Golden Guardians bot laner Lawrence "Lost" Hui will be joining him.

One of the biggest roster moves of the offseason has taken place as Cloud9 completely repivot their roster, releasing both of their supports and the LCS spring split MVP top laner in Summit.

Despite finishing second in the regular season, Cloud9 had a poor playoff performance, only beating Golden Guardians and finishing fourth. Even still, it's a shock to see the reigning MVP released from the team.

A report from Upcomer suggests that Fudge, who role swapped from top lane to mid lane this split, will be returning to top for summer. The report also suggests former C9 mid lane Nicolaj "Jensen" Jensen would be coming back to the organization that gave him his LCS debut.

After finishing in ninth for the spring split, TSM has released mid-laner Keaiduo and support Yursan. Keaiduo came over from the Chinese academy league to become TSM's starting mid laner, and mostly disappointed.

Yursan became TSM's Academy support in 2021, and had a great first split, but hasn't reached those peaks since.

Longtime LEC top laner Vizicsacsi is making his return to the LEC, joining Astralis for the summer split.

Vizicsacsi retired after a Worlds run with Splyce in 2019, but began coming back to competition by joining Oceanic team PEACE for Worlds 2021. This spring split, he's been playing in the French regional league with GamersOrigin, where he helped them to qualify for playoffs, ultimately finishing 6th. Whether Vizicsacsi can still stand up to LEC competition remains to be seen, but it's always good to see a familiar face back in the game.

April 29

After a 10th place spring split, Immortals have released Australian support Mitchell "Destiny" Shaw.

April 28

After a 7th place spring split finish, Dignitas has released top laner Aaron "FakeGod" Lee.

FakeGod joined Dignitas in 2021 and helped them to some promising moments. They made playoffs both splits in 2021 and made the quarterfinals of the 2022 LCS Lock In with a shocking best-of-5 win over 100 Thieves. However, 2022 spring brought Dignitas back to earth, despite some promising moments, and they failed to make the playoffs.

Astralis have released their jungler Nikolay "Zanzarah" Akatov.

Zanzarah was with Astralis for all of 2021 and the spring split of 2022. With 9th, 7th, and 10th place finishes, though, things never worked out for Zanzarah or Astralis. Along with the releases of WhiteKnight and promisq earlier, they'll be completely reworking their roster for summer.

April 10

After a 10th place finish in the 2022 spring split, Astralis have released their top laner Matti "WhiteKnight" Sormunen and support Hampus "promisq" Abrahamsson.
