This was the upper bracket semifinal of LoL MSI 2024. Both T1 and Bilibili Gaming advanced to this point after their respective wins in their matches before. T1 triumphed against G2 Esports, and BLG earned their victory against PSG Talon.

For BLG, this win advanced them to the upper bracket final. They will contest Gen.G Esports for the first spot in the grand final. Meanwhile, T1 descended into the lower bracket where they will face the final vestige of hope for North America (NA): Team Liquid.

They came out the gate swinging at Game 1. T1's mistakes were punished primarily by the BLG bot side, causing deficits all across the board until the mid-game. While all the chaos ensued in the bottom half of the map, Bin's Vayne quietly scaled in the side lane. He even pulled off a 1v2 versus Faker and Zeus. Eventually, BLG's accrued leads on their carries allowed them to control, and end, the game as they pleased.
Aiming to equalize the series, T1 took the initiative in Game 2. They were quicker on the trigger on plays, and with Faker on Taliyah, they aimed to affect and snowball their side lanes. BLG fought back valiantly, and Bin may have earned another clip for his highlight reel, but the fights went in T1's favor. T1 emerged victorious in Game 2, evening out the match 1-1.
In Game 3, T1 planned for the long con. They drafted Veigar and Senna for Faker and Gumayusi, respectively. Despite the Senna pick, BLG still initiated a lane swap against it.
The game was mostly even transitioning into the mid-game. However, consecutive picks that resulted from BLG's aggression swung the game in their favor. They concluded the game without giving T1's carries the chance to scale. As a result of this win, BLG reached match point, and T1 was on the brink of dropping to the lower bracket.
Backs against the wall, T1 locked in Akali for Faker after BLG banned five mid champions. Game 4 was the slowest game in the series, with first blood occurring well into the mid-game at 19 minutes. This was the first big fight in the game, which also ended up being the series-winning one. Thanks to one blind hook from ON's Nautilus, BLG took the series against T1.
The first seeds of LCK and LPL will clash in the upper bracket final of LoL MSI 2024 as Bilibili Gaming will face Gen.G Esports. Meanwhile, T1 will look to pave their way to the grand final through the lower bracket, beginning with a series against Team Liquid.
