Halo Infinite’s first Major is set to begin soon. here’s all the information you need about the Raleigh event.

Competitive Halo is back and is looking better than ever. The best Halo teams in the world are currently preparing for the first official event to mark the 2021/22 season for Halo. Halo's return will be at the HCS Kickoff Major Raleigh at the Raleigh Convention Centre in North Carolina. As normality returns, teams will kickstart the Halo year on LAN in front of a packed crowd.

Which major region teams will be competing at HCS Kickoff Major Raleigh?

At the time of writing this article, Sentinels forfeited their seed due to the suspension of Royal2. It appears Sentinels will still be taking part in the tournament with confirmation FormaL will be standing in for SEN.

North America will send eight teams to this tournament, four from the set of open qualifiers and four from HCS points. Europe will be sending four teams, two from the open qualifiers and two from HCS points. Mexico will be sending two teams from their qualifiers with one through HCS points. And finally, AZ (Australia - New Zealand) will be sending one team through the qualifiers.

What is the format for HCS Kickoff Major Raleigh?

The tournament will start off with sixteen teams that qualified through the four major regions. The sixteen teams will then be divided into four groups of four. The group stage will determine the seeding for the Championship Bracket later into the tournament.

The top two teams in each group will receive a bye to the Winners Round 2. The bottom two teams will start off in Winners Round 1. The Championship Bracket will consist of 32 teams, 16 from the group stages and 16 from the open bracket.

The 32 team Championship Bracket will be a double-elimination style bracket with every series being a best-of-five.

What will be the prize pool for HCS Kickoff Major Raleigh?

32 teams will be competing for a share of the $250,000 prize pool, here is how the prize pool will be distributed:

  • First place: $100,000
  • Second place: $60,000
  • Third place: $28,000
  • Fourth place: $14,000
  • Fifth-sixth place: $7,000
  • Seventh-eighth place: $4,000
  • Ninth-twelth place: $2,000
  • Thirteenth-sixteenth: $1,300
  • Seventeenth-twenty fourth: $1000
  • Twenty fifth-thirty second: $600
