This camera setting in Girls’ Frontline 2 might be the one you’ve been looking for

Most of your Girls' Frontline 2 gameplay will be happening as a tactical turn-based RPG. By default, your gameplay experience may be diminished - here's a GFL2 setting to make your play sessions less headache-inducing.

Girls' Frontline 2 camera setting

Without changing the game, the gameplay camera will swap from top-down to over-the-shoulder every time one of your Dolls take their turn. This may have been intended to enhance immersion; to make you feel like you're actually on the battlefield. For some, however, this is an annoying feature that may cause literal headaches due to the abrupt changing of the point-of-view.

Here's how you can fix the camera in Girls' Frontline 2.

  1. Head to Settings.
  2. Go to the Other tab.
  3. Under Combat Settings, change Mode Settings from Performance to Strategy.

This will completely get rid of the over-the-shoulder view. To further customize your view of the play area, you can also change your Camera Angle. This is initially set to 45 degrees, and you can either put it on a lower or a higher tilt. Another setting of note is the Ultimate Skill Animation, which changes how often you see the cut-in animation when you cast your Doll's ultimate.

Other GFL2 Settings

If you're experiencing performance issues and you meet the minimum system requirements for the game, you can try lowering the settings under the Graphics tab.

Other settings you can fiddle with in the Graphics tab according to your tastes include:

  • Frame Rate Cap
  • Bloom
  • Anti-Aliasing
  • Shadow Quality
  • Post-Processing Effects
  • Vertical Sync

You can get rid of the annoying Red Dot Notifications too. This is under Other, then scroll down to the Notification Settings. This will allow you to tweak which parts of the game can show you a red dot when there's new content. Note that when you set Red Dot Notification in the Refitting Room to Close, the rest of the notifications will also be Closed.
