The official GameCube Online service will be released on the same date as the Switch 2 is released: June 5, 2025. This also means that the GameCube Online service will only be available for the Switch 2, meaning regular Switch players will have to upgrade or watch others play all the GameCube hits from afar.

Still, with a new Mario Kart announced, too, the Nintendo Switch 2 has set itself apart enough from the first Nintendo Switch to gain quite a few sales upon release.
