Mexico’s all-time leading goal scorer and LA Galaxy Striker joins the Stars division to expand his brand through gaming.

Complexity Gaming has announced the signing of Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, LA Galaxy soccer player. The move will see Chicharito join Complexity Stars, the organization's division for professional athletes and celebrities. Complexity Gaming launched this division in November 2021 to draw more attention to esports content and engage gaming fans. Since then they've recruited 8 athletes including former NBA player, J.R Smith, WNBA player Allisha Gray and NFL players Ronnie Stanley and Leonard Fournette.

Chicharito plans with Complexity Stars

The former Manchester United player boasts a following of over 14.3 million on social media. Complexity will leverage this audience to reach more people and share gaming content. Moreover, with this deal, Chicharito becomes the first professional soccer player signed with Complexity Stars.

“Gaming has always been a passion of mine, and by signing with Complexity Stars, I’ll be able to create content and host events to better engage with my fans off the pitch. Complexity has a rich history in gaming and esports, and after seeing their commitment to developing talent and fostering opportunities for athletes to organically grow with the space, I knew it would be a perfect fit.”

Furthermore, he will leverage the organization's skills to increase his profile and expand his reach in digital spaces. This will occur through content creation, esports tournaments and other activities throughout the year.

Since he was 18, Chicharito’s fanbase has watched him dominate the football pitch,” said Duane “Zeno” Jackson, Head of Complexity Stars. “As the worlds of gaming and traditional sports continue to collide, Complexity Stars has given athletes a platform to connect with fans in new ways.

Even though Complexity is an American organization, it has quite a significant amount of Spanish-speaking fans. Moreover, it also has a diverse esports roster with its recent acquisition of a South America Rocket League team. The signing of Chicharito to Complexity Stars shows the organization's continued progress in reaching fans across the globe.

Chicharito will work with Complexity's diverse roster to create unique experiences made up of real and virtual pitches. This will include branded content, events and collaboration with other pro athletes and creators.
