The Double Pump returns to Fortnite OG in December!

Epic Games has confirmed the beloved Double Pump strategy will return to Fortnite OG when it launches on Dec. 6. Back in Fortnite Chapter 1, players discovered that you could hold two Pump Shotguns in your inventory and switch between them without a delay to fire faster.

This technique became imperative to success until Epic Games eventually patched it out. However, it will return in Fortnite OG, and the excitement is real.

Epic confirmed the Double Pump will return in Fortnite OG

This news arrived via Fortnite streamer and 100 Thieves content creator Sparkles_qt. During her Twitch stream on Nov. 22, Fortnite's official Twitch account wrote, "hey chat...double pump returning Dec 6 with OG chapter 1 season 1 btw." With the Double Pump strategy coming back, the anticipation behind the permanent return of Fortnite OG has reached near-maximum levels.

Although the 2023 version of Fortnite OG was ultra-popular, it didn't offer the same charm and cheesiness as the 2018 experience. Certain glitches and exploits helped define Fortnite, and the Double Pump is a prime example. Fortnite's official social media accounts have confirmed this report in a post we expect to receive millions of impressions.

A brief history of the Double Shotgun strategy

Many credit Fortnite streamer Daequan "Daequan" Loco as the pioneer of the Double Pump method. Various videos on his YouTube channel showcase the legend swapping between Pumps in his inventory to fire at opponents rapidly. This method would ultimately become a staple for players before Epic Games nerfed it in Season 3 and eventually removed it Season 5.

The developers added a delay when switching between Shotguns to render the Double Pump strategy ineffective. However, Epic is standing by its word with the upcoming Fortnite OG game mode. The Double Pump will join the fun when Chapter 1 Season 1 returns on Dec. 6.
