Here is everything new in the Fortnite v.31.30 update!

Fortnite's final update before Fortnitemares 2024 has arrived. Although this is a minor update with no official blog post from Epic Games, a few notable items are worth outlining ahead of the Halloween-themed event. For one, a new in-game countdown has appeared, with a rumored mini-event waiting on the other side. Additionally, a new Sleep Mode setting debuted in the Fortnite v31.30 update. Here's an overview of the update.

Fortnite's v31.30 update deployed a live event countdown near the Reckless Railways point of interest (POI). This countdown will expire on Saturday, October 5 at 2 p.m. ET. Based on leaks and posts by official Fortnite social media accounts, the event will center around Doctor Doom. The legendary Marvel supervillain has featured prominently this season, and a boss battle could potentially happen for event attendees.

Fortnitemares 2024 details leak during the v31.30 downtime

With Fortnite's Halloween event beginning between Oct. 11 and Oct. 15, prominent leakers have highlighted many details during the v31.30 downtime. The leaked key art indicates that Leatherface from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise and Billy the Puppet from the Saw franchise will become in-game skins. Those two complement a new spooky style for Marshmello's Icon Series skin. Lastly, according to SamLeakss, more items based on A Nightmare Before Christmas are coming soon.

Beyond the cosmetics, a new Saw-themed Mythic item will join the loot pool during Fortnitemares 2024. It's a tricycle, like Billy the Puppet's in the film, that will ask, "Do you want to play a game?" before exploding.
