Fortnite just gave us a look at the game’s new movement, and it looks insane.

And... Fortnite has done it again! The popular Battle Royale released a trailer earlier today showcasing everything to expect in Chapter 6, Season 1, and part of that was a look at the game's brand-new movement.

Here is a breakdown on Fortnite's new parkour movement.

New movement added to Fortnite in Chapter 6

Every Chapter, Fortnite tends to add new mechanics and features that give the game a whole new look, changing the way competitors have to play the Battle Royale. In Chapter 6, it seems as if the game is planning to add parkour.

In the Chapter 6 trailer, characters can be seen jumping from wall to wall, pushing off structures with just their feet. There is even a sequence where the player jumps off a building and does a somersault when colliding with the ground.

What does this mean for fall damage? Will it help to prevent it? These are questions we may not have answered until the Chapter begins on December 1, 2024.

Complete timeline of Fortnite's movement

When the game was first released, all you could do was crouch, run and jump. Times were much simpler back then. It was not until Chapter 2 that Fortnite began to implement more intense movement.

At the start of Chapter 2, the Battle Royale introduced Swimming, which allowed players to travel across ponds, lakes and streams when rotating. This was an absolute game-changer for players, as it helped with not getting stuck in the water.

Players did not see a change in movement until Chapter 3 when Fortnite added Sprinting (with stamina) and Sliding.

Since then, Fortnite has made changes here and there to the game's movement, but nothing as great as the addition of parkour to Chapter 6.
