Medallions are back in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 and here’s how they work!

Medallions have returned in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 after sitting out Chapter 2 Remix. These in-game items debuted in Chapter 5 and became a staple, offering different benefits such as invincibility, automatic healing, a dash effect, and more. Two Medallions exist in Chapter 6 Season 1, and here's everything you need to know about them!

Fortnite Chapter 6 Medallions: How to get them and what they do

Epic Games has steadily decreased the number of Medallions from their debut until the end of Chapter 5. Initially, there were five in Season 1 followed by four in Season 2, three in Season 3, and four in Season 4. With their return, Fortnite Chapter 6 features only two Medallions so far: the Night Rose and Shogun X Medallions.

Let's begin with the Night Rose Medallion, which you can acquire by defeating the Night Rose boss at the Demon's Dojo point of interest (POI). Once added to your inventory, the Medallion will reload your weapons automatically.

On the other side, there is the Shogun X Medallion, also referred to as the Wanderer Medallion. This one grants the carrier infinite stamina and invisibility while sprinting. You can find the giant Shogun X character roaming the map by looking for the moving mask icon.

Epic Games could add more throughout the season, so we'll add to this list if that happens.

Are these items any good?

Without having played Chapter 6 Season 1 yet, it's challenging to say whether these Medallions are worthwhile to carry. It's also worth noting that the mechanic that reveals your location on the map while carrying a Medallion is likely still present in the game. In theory, both Medallions should be effective.

Not having to reload your weapon is an incredible asset while playing a match. However, the Wanderer Medallion may be slightly superior, since it allows you to traverse the map hidden and without losing stamina.

We'll have to see how each Medallions plays when Chapter 6 Season 1, and that only scratches the surface. There's also a Battle Pass, various new weapons, a new map, and more.
