Aqua’s story of vengeance continues in Oshi no Ko season 2.

The debut season of Oshi no Ko anime, released on April 2023, took the world by storm. Despite falling under the somewhat overdone "Isekai" (other world) category, Oshi no Ko's gripping story is unique and captivating. It introduces viewers to the complex and harsh realities of Japan's idol industry, shining a spotlight on the highs and lows of pursuing a career in show business. With the success of the first season, fans are reeling for another. Fortunately, it won't be much longer because Oshi no Ko Season 2 is set to release in 2024.

Season 1 Synopsis

Obstetrician-gynecologist, Gorou Amamiya, is a die-hard fan of popular idol, Ai Hoshino. And by some twist of fate, he takes a pregnant Ai in as a patient to deliver her baby. Moments before the delivery, an unknown assailant murders Gorou, and he miraculously reincarnates as Ai's child. He also has a twin sister who, unbeknownst to him, happens to be a reincarnation of one of his dearest patients in his former life.

Under a new name, Aqua, he begins his life anew as the son of a famous celebrity along with his twin sister Ruby. Aqua leads a simple and happy life with his favorite idol, now his mother. However, the moment is fleeting as the very same killer manages to track Ai down and takes her life as well. On her deathbed, Aqua vows to himself to hunt the killer down and sets himself on a journey of revenge.

The first reason focuses on how Aqua grows up and explores the idol industry. He works as a manager to revive his mother's former idol group, B-Komachi, with Ruby and two other female protagonists, Kana Arima and Akane Kurokawa. Although he prefers to be on the sidelines, Aqua also stumbles upon an acting gig in a dating reality show. Through his efforts, he is able to find clues on his mother's killer and learns that his long-lost father is complicit. After the success of B-Komachi's first major concert, Aqua swears once again to find his father to exact his revenge.
