North American mainstays 4Zoomers have been picked up by the NFT and cryptocurrency organization: the Nouns Foundation

North American mainstays 4Zoomers have finally found an organization to play for. The team has been a vital part of the NA DPC since March of 2020 and has mostly played in the online circuit. Now they've found an official sponsor in NFT company Nouns Foundation.

During the DPC, the team, in its various forms has consistently gotten a 4th place finish in the DPC-just shy of being in the competition for a major slot. However, with the backing of this organization, the could have the the edge to compete with the NA powerhouses like EG, and TSM.

Who are the Nouns Foundation?

The Nouns Foundation is new to the realm of esport. The organization focuses on NFT auctions. According to their website, "Nouns are an experimental attempt to improve the formation of on-chain avatar communities." The site goes on to explain "Nouns attempt to bootstrap identity, community, governance, and a treasury that can be used by the community."

It appears that daily, these "Nouns" are auctioned off using the digital crypto currency Ethereum. These auctions are then used in a sort of governmental system for regulating the NFTs and currency. You can look at their website to get a better sense of what exactly this means.

Not the first Crypto in Dota

This isn't the first time that the world of crypto currency has appeared in the Dota 2 scene. Coinbase, the crypto trading platform, sponsors Team Liquid. And Team SoloMid rebranded to include FTX in their name, another trading platform. Gaimin Gladiators are another crypto currency organization. These virtual currencies have become more and more common, but this appears to be the Noun Foundations first stint into esports.

Yet the pick up has already done wonders for the team. Now playing under the banner Nouns Esports, the team handled South American powerhouse Infamous easily with a 2-0 victory in the BTS Pro Series. Time will tell if the team will continue to gain the benefits from having an org sponsor. If the performance of TSM is any clue however, we still have much to see from Nouns Esports.
