Destiny’s coolest SMG just got a whole lot better.
Destiny 2's Act 3 of Episode Heresy is here, and with it comes one of the most anticipated Exotic Catalysts for Barrow-Dyad: Target Lock.
Many players have been collecting the other catalyst upgrades but as good as High-Impact Reserves and One For All is, Target Lock is a particular favorite among many SMG users. You'll need to jump through a few hoops to get it, however!
Here's how to get the Target Lock Catalyst for Barrow-Dyad in Destiny 2.
Note: To begin, you'll need to have completed all of The Nether's secrets in the Hatchling catalyst quest and completed the Mission Dossiers by progressing the Heresy Act 3 main story!
How to get the Target Lock catalyst for Barrow-Dyad
Step 1: Complete the Hive Rune puzzle and destroy the hidden Blight in The Founts
It's recommended you run as much of The Nether activities in Explore mode. You can speed up the run by bringing a friend or two, but this can be done solo.

Load up The Nether and run through until you reach The Founts room. In the center with the giant turning Hive cryptolith will be a set of three runes. These runes match the Hive doorways above the rune set, with a few extra scattered around the doors.
You'll need to shoot the three correct symbols. They can be done in any order. You'll know if you've done it correctly if a chest spawns and the message "A secret of the Dreadnaught has been found!" appears.
Once you collect your rewards from the chest, look around at the pillars in the room you're in. There should be a single Hive symbol on a small plate. I found it on the pillar just next to the chest spawn, but others have found it on other pillars or the coffins across the room.

Shoot the symbol, and a doorway next to the chest will open. Run through, then drop down into the hole. You'll find a labyrinth of tight passages filled with enemies while the Suffocating Terror debuff begins ticking. If the debuff reaches 15 stacks (around 30 to 40 seconds), you'll die — so run quickly!
Inside of the labyrinth will be a Taken Blight. Find it and shoot it to wipe the buff and complete the secret. You'll be rewarded with the Coalescence of the [Knife] — one of two you'll need!

Step 2: Find the Blight in Hull Breach and defeat the Taken boss
After you finish The Founts secrets, reload a new instance of The Nether. At the time of writing, you should spawn into the Heresy Act 3 zone, Hull Breach. If not, complete the first room you spawn in, then check if room two is Hull Breach. If not, repeat until you get in.
In the corner of the map across from the main boss will be this blue Cabal banner. If you've completed the above step and collected your Coalescence of the [Knife], a Toland orb will await in front of the banner. Scan the orb, and an enemy Taken will spawn behind you named Skyburner's Grudge.

Defeat Skyburner's Grudge, and you'll receive an item called "Legion Code." This is necessary for the next step, which is to open the Cabal barrier doorway directly beneath you.

Step 3: Use the Cabal Legion Code to open the door

Drop down below the platform with the banner and you'll come across the orange Cabal shield. With the Legion Code, you'll be able to unlock this door. Inside is a random Minor Boon, plus the second Coalescence of the [Knife].
Step 4: Find the Crossed Blades Tithe in Hull Breach and pick up the quest

Head across Hull Breach to the dark doorway just to the right of the two lit pillars on the far-right wall of Hull Breach. Inside is a chest, plus the "Crossed Blades Tithe" interactive panel. You will be able to interact with the panel if you have both Coalescence of the [Knife].
A portal will open to your right once you complete the interaction. Enter it and open the chests; you should receive an item called Warped Osseous Spine. You can trade this for the Exotic Catalyst quest back at the Shaping Slab in Eris Morn's Apartment in the Last City.
Step 5: Collect all 10 Ravenous Wormspawn
While at Eris' Apartment, switch to the Path of Resolve if you haven't already. This will allow you to see Ravenous Wormspawn in The Nether.
Head back into The Nether and collect the Ravenous Wormspawn. They'll appear on your mini map as you get close to them. If you've collected all eight Wormspawn so far, the final two will likely be in Hull Breach — I've included their locations below.

Step 6: Complete the Derealize Exotic mission with Barrow-Dyad equipped
Finally, run the Derealize Exotic mission using Barrow-Dyad. Upon completion, you'll be rewarded with the Target Lock catalyst which you can apply to your Barrow-Dyad at The Enclave.
