Deadlock has different objectives throughout the game and across the map that players have to overcome if they want to win the match ultimately. Guardians are one such obstacle that you will encounter across each of the four lanes. Here’s all you need to know about Guardians in Deadlock.

What are Guardians in Deadlock

Guardians are the first line of defense in each lane. There are four guardians per team in each of the four lanes. This means the map, in total, has eight Guardians. They carry a staff that beams a light of energy at opponents.

In the early game, Guardians can be quite a daunting opponent to overcome, especially if you do not have a significant advantage in the laning phase. Guardians have powerful attacks, and in most cases you cannot take them on alone as a hero. You will need your troopers to tank the damage in order to chip away with continuous damage at the Guardians.

The Guardians have their laser attack, but they can also attack with melee if you get too close. In the early game, Guardians’ damage can be quite too much for you to tank.

In the later part of the game, as you head towards the enemy base, you will also encounter two Guardians. The Elder Guardians, as they are called, are just two Guardians. And since you will only encounter them much later in the game, these Guardians do not feel as overwhelming or overpowered as the first time you encounter the Guardian in the lane.

How to Defeat Guardians in Deadlock

After an extended period of NDA agreements, Valve finally lifted the information embargo on the game on August 20. The game is still invite-only which means that you need your friend to invite you to play the game. At the same time, the game has seen an increasing number of players with each passing day. Deadlock is a very fun game and is still in development. This means there might be significant variations for the game and its final release down the road.
