Complexity’s Jason Lake: “JKS is still a star and deserving of a team.”

Justin "jks" Savage, the one stand-in player that FaZe was forced to field for IEM Katowice, is as of this writing still signed to Complexity. Despite the player's star status even before his breakout performance here at this IEM with FaZe, its come to light that there have been no offers for the player to his team.

"JKS wants to live & play in EU. We've kept him on a salary and secured his visa but have had no offers yet," Jason Lake, founder and CEO of Complexity said. "Hopefully this event sparks some interest because he's obviously still a star and deserving of a team."

That JKS is still a star is a bit of an understatement, especially if you look at his IEM Katowice performance. Across 10 maps with FaZe, JKS managed an impressive 75.8 damage per round, only .64 deaths per round, and a 75.3% kill assist. While this is far from the best at the tournament, JKS had some great clutch moments, and surely helped FaZe along to victory.

JKS actually performed above his average, according to HLTV, especially in the Kill Assist department. This means that he was instrumental in setting up kills for his FaZe teammates.

This just shows that in the right team environment, he can still succeed, and deserves not to be riding Complexity's bench.

Others in the scene have pointed out that Evil Geniuses could be a potential home for JKS. However, it seems that isn't the case due to where JKS prefers to be - EU.

"Good context since daps tweeted to have him in EG, too. We ain’t EU. Proudly so," Evil Geniuses Director of Gaming Excellence Danny Engels tweeted.

It's unclear exactly why Complexity benched JKS and Patrick "es3tag" Hansen back in November of last year. At the time, the team did not specify their reasoning for benching them. At the time, they stated that they remained committed to CS:GO and were evaluating options for 2022. They later picked up a primarily NA based team in Johnny "JT" Theodosiou, Justin "FaNg" Coakley, Ricky "floppy" Kemery, Michael "Grim" Wince, and Paytyn "junior" Johnson.

So far, this new look Complexity roster has not impressed. They placed 10-12th at Blast Premier: Spring Groups, placed 7th at Fragadelphia 16, and only came in 3rd/4th at ESL Challenger #48.

One would think that Complexity may want to use JKS, seeing as he's still being paid a salary, to improve their fortunes. However, it could be that JKS simply does not wish to play with the team in NA, instead hoping that someone will bail him out of contract jail.

Jason Lake did not specify what JKS' buyout is, but his performance at IEM Katowice gives Complexity considerable room to negotiate a higher buyout. It remains to be seen if that buyout could be worth the money to an organization looking for some star power.

For JKS, though, he's just happy to have won IEM Katowice since competing at the event since 2015. And to think, he may not have even been playing as Havard "Rain" Nygaard tested positive for COVID once more before the finals.

As for his next prospects, the man himself isn't sure. As he related in the post-match press conference:
