A new opportunity for the 21-year-old AWPer. BLAST Premier Spring Groups will be his first time in an international tournament..

Ahead of the BLAST Premier Spring groups, Evil Geniuses have added a new AWPer to their CS:GO roster. Joining the North American team is Jerric "wiz" Jiang. Wiz is the second EG Blueprint player to join the starting roster.

Last year, Evil Geniuses signed a 15-player roster adding members of the Party Astronauts and Carpe Diem. The new roster, also known as the ‘Blueprint’ was a plan to ‘revitalize the North American CS:GO scene’.

The roster change comes after multiple failed attempts at significant improvements in their placements. While Evil Geniuses did not finish last at ESL Pro League Season 16, their results at the IEM Rio Major was nothing short of disappointing. They also only managed to finish 5-8th in the BLAST Premier Fall Americas Showdown.

Who is EG Wiz?

Jiang’s rise to fame was during his time on RBG and Carpe Diem. His performance on EG Black has placed him as one of NA’s best upcoming AWPers. With a 1.10 rating, the 21-year-old’s performance will be under keen observation on the main roster. His +248 K/D while on EG Black has impressed fans, although his true test will be in the next few weeks against stronger opponents.

Evil Geniuses will take part in the upcoming BLAST Premier Spring groups, the first tournament of 2023. The tournament has 12 teams with a $177,498 USD prize pool. The tournament serves as a qualifying event for subsequent BLAST events including the Spring Final and the Spring Showdown. This tournament will be the first time Wiz will play on an international level.

EG’s CS:GO roster is as follows:

  • Timothy "autimatic" Ta
  • Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte
  • Sanzhar "neaLaN" Iskhakov
  • Jadan "HexT" Postma
  • Jerric "wiz" Jiang
  • Daniel "Vorborg" Vorborg (coach)
