Virtus.Pro are one match away from qualifying for Fall Finals.
BIG and Virtus.Pro faced each other in the quarterfinals of the BLAST Premier Fall Showdown. Virtus.Pro took down BIG in a series that was full of exceptional plays and some amazing talent.

The first map of Ancient was much closer than one would anticipate. After a strong 8-4 start to the first half, BIG looked like they were in the driving seat. However, some impressive performances on the T side meant Virtus.Pro were able to sneak it back in and tie the game. Both teams moved on to overtime. Overtime looked very similar as both teams were neck to neck, but ultimately, BIG managed to pull ahead. They won Ancient with a 19-16 score with tabseN leading from the front. He had 31 frags to his name and used his experience to get into advantageous positions and win the map for the team.
Mirage was a much more one-sided affair and this time Virtus.Pro came out on top. The team had picked Mirage and their comfort factor was clearly visible when they were playing. With timely rotates and excellent lurk plays, Virtus.Pro had BIG on their toes. It ended with a 13-7 victory for Virtus.Pro, tying the series.
The final map of the series was Dust 2. Coming off a loss on Mirage, BIG were off to a fantastic start on Dust 2. They won the first six rounds in a row. However, they let their attention off of the game making a few silly mistakes to allow Virtus.pro back into the round. The first half score was 8-4 in favor of Virtus.Pro. However, Virtus.Pro had an almost impenetrable CT side defense, one that saw them cruise to victory on the final map. The series was much closer than many analysts anticipated.
With this victory, Virtus.Pro move on to the semifinals. They will face off against Team Falcons. The winner of that match will move on to qualify for the Fall Finals. The BLAST Premier Fall Finals takes place later in September this year.
The BLAST Premier Fall Showdown is the final opportuinity for teams wanting to make it to the Fall Finals. With a $135,000 prize pool, that’s a substantial benefit to win this event as well. The final day of the event will send two teams, the top two, to the Fall Finals. Counter-Strike fans can catch all the action live on Twitch.
