Very few teams appear capable of stopping the Vitality juggernaut in Melbourne.
Team Vitality's current win streak in CS2 is now the third-longest of all time following their 2-0 (13-5, 13-8) win over Team Liquid at IEM Melbourne.
Vitality play tomorrow for a spot in the semifinals, but today's victory is enough to confirm the world number one team won't finish below sixth Down Under. More importantly, they have now won 18 matches of CS2 in a row — the third-longest streak in Counter-Strike history.

It's been all too easy for Vitality so far in Melbourne, with the world's best having little trouble against FlyQuest and Liquid in the group stage. Today's match saw Vitality storm into the playoffs with ease, opening with a 13-5 win on Liquid's pick of Mirage.

Should they complete the perfect run to the ESL Grand Slam, they'll reach 21 consecutive series wins — just two behind Liquid's record run back in 2018 and 2019. The all-time record of 60-straight wins, held by Ninjas in Pyjamas from the early days of CS:GO, will likely never be topped.
While they can't break Liquid's record in Melbourne, their eye has not left the trophy, and there's little their opponents can do to stop them. Vitality takes on the winner of Falcons and NaVi in tomorrow's playoff seeding match.
