It’s all or nothing now in the single-elimination playoffs.

After nearly a week of competition, we now have the final few teams remaining for the PGL Copenhagen Major. The first-ever CS2 Major started with 24 teams and is now down to eight. Here are the PGL Copenhagen Major Playoffs matchups for the final few days. 

PGL Copenhagen Major Matchups

Four teams remain in the Copenhagen Major playoffs and they compete over two days in the quarterfinals. The Playoffs are a single-elimination format so there is no scope for error. Here are the matchups for the PGL Copenhagen Major playoffs. 

  • Team Vitality vs Cloud9
  • Team Secret vs FaZe Clan
  • Eternal Fire vs Natus Vincere
  • G2 esports vs MOUZ

The first match will feature Vitality and Cloud9 in a match that is bound to bring the fanbase of the two orgs come clash. Vitality and Cloud9 had both secured a 3-1 result in the Elimination stage. While Vitality lost its first match against Eternal Fire, Cloud9’s only loss came against FURIA. However, Cloud9’s victory over G2 esports and NAVI set the two teams slightly apart. Cloud9 had a tougher route through the elimination stage and this perseverance will be crucial for their performance through the Playoffs. 

G2 esports is not in the best of form barely scraping past to secure its spot in the playoffs. However, the team is slowly finding its way through and might just peak at the right time. In comparison, MOUZ had a 3-0 start and looks extremely dominant so far in the touranment. How far can they go with the same form and confidence is something that Counter-Strike fans will be eager to see. 

The PGL Copenhagen Major is the first CS2 Major and features a prize pool of $1.25 million. The tournament started with 24 teams and is now down to the final eight. The tournament winner not only gets infamous as the first-ever CS2 Major winner but also receives invites to the BLAST Premier World Finals as well as the Esports World Cup 2024.
