The Crow comes to Call of Duty, in a collaboration that takes place right as the reboot of the film series begins.

Although Black Ops 6 is on the horizon, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is still pumping out content. New seasons are happening, and crossovers with pop culture are still in place. Upcoming for Call of Duty: MW3 is an appearance from none other than The Crow.

Over the years, COD has had the likes of the Shredder, WWE superstars, and so many more join their Operator ranks. Now, you can play as the latest version of The Crow as the collaboration kicks just one day before the movie hits theaters.

All we have thus far is a teaser, but when a better look at The Crow in Call of Duty arrives, we'll update you here. Until then, let's take a look at what we do know.

A short video was shared to the Call of Duty X account, with a crow emoji in the message. The words, "Back from the grave. Not my first time. Won't be my last," are heard in the teaser, with the back of what is obviously the newer version of The Crow.

Additionally crows caw and fly up from the ground before it reveals the release date of August 22. The movie releases on August 23, so they are putting this crossover together just in time for the film to make its way to theaters.

What you can expect from Call of Duty x The Crow is the Operator skin. Don't be surprised if it is a costly one with multiple weapon blueprints, a unique kill animation, and of course, a wild finisher that brings The Crow's merciless demeanor to the forefront.

If you aren't sure what The Crow is, but this collaboration with Call of Duty has caught your interest, let's go over the history. The comic book series came out in 1989 and was adapted to film in 1994. It infamously starred Bruce Lee's son, Brandon Lee, who was killed on set by a prop gun.

It became a cult classic with some sequels that didn't register with audiences as well as the first. Now, this reboot comes starring Bill Skarsgård, who played Pennywise the Clown in the It movies.

The Crow, named Eric, is a murdered musician. He is resurrected with nothing but vengeance on his mind. He seeks to avenge his death and the death of his fiancée.

Expect some changes to the original, as Skarsgård stated the ending is different to leave open the potential for a sequel.
