Call of Duty League team Boston Breach has elected not to keep TJHaLy on its roster following a sub-par finish at CDL Champs 2022.

Thomas "TJHaLy" Haly became the first shoe to drop amid the impending Roster Mania this offseason. TJHaLy joined Boston Breach in 2022 following a nine-month stint with L.A. Thieves. He enjoyed an entire season on the starting roster beside Methodz, Nero, Capsidal, and Vivid toward the end of the 2022 CDL year.

Unfortunately, TJHaLy’s run with Breach has come to an end. As a result, the immediate future for the veteran is unclear, with so many roster changes expected between now and the first match of the 2023 season.

Boston Breach does not exercise the option for TJHaLy

After a 7th-8th place exit at the Call of Duty League Championship, Boston Breach struck first. The team announced today that it would not exercise an option to keep TJHaLy on its roster.

“Today, we announce that we will not exercise the team option on @TJHaLy's contract. The Breach will be forever grateful to Teej as a founding member and champion of our brand. You will always have a place in Breach history.”

Boston Breach’s General Manager, Denz, followed with a few words regarding TJHaLy's exit from the team.

“Decisions at this time of year are never easy. @TJHaLy was an imperative part of the team - a great player, & a great person. We got so close and I’ll always remember this season and the memories made with Teej.”

TJHaLy finished the season with a 0.93 K/D according to Breaking Point, tying him for the lowest on Boston Breach alongside Nero. Haly commented briefly on his time with the team, stating, “Appreciate everything the Breach has done. Really wish we could’ve got more done this year. Looking forward to the future."

What’s next for both parties?

Breach remains the newest CDL team, and an appearance at the Call of Duty League Championship is an impressive achievement. However, roster retooling is undoubtedly in play, considering the number of underperforming teams in 2022. Boston Breach will be looking for a player to fill TJHaLy’s shoes heading into Modern Warfare 2. We’ll ultimately have to see what other roster changes occur and how Breach capitalizes accordingly.

As for TJHaLy, he’ll hope to find a spot on a starting roster somewhere between now and the first event. Otherwise, the veteran will likely become a substitute and potentially compete in the Challengers League.

Roster Mania has just begun, and we expect many more players to move. Stay tuned to esports.gg for all the latest Call of Duty news
