Unlike some of the settings submenus in XDefiant, the Controller one is pretty simple. There aren't any additional sections. It just simply says Controller Settings, and has all of the available options listed below.

So, for the best XDefiant controller settings, go with the following:

  • Button Layout: Default
  • Stick Layout: Default
  • Aim Assist: Standard
  • Aim Assist Strength Adjustment: 0
  • Aim Assist Follow Adjustment: 0
  • Aim Response Curve Type: Standard or Reverse S-Curve
  • Horizontal Sensitivity: 30
  • Vertical Sensitivity: 30
  • ADS Sensitivity Multiplier (Low Zoom): 1.00x
  • ADS Sensitivity Multiplier (High Zoom): 0.80x
  • Dead Zone - Left Stick: 10
  • Dead Zone - Right Stick: 10
  • Acceleration Speed Multiplier: 1.00x
  • Invert Horizontal Axis: On or Off
  • Invert Vertical Axis: On or Off
  • Controller Vibration: Off

Sticking to the default layouts for your controller settings in XDefiant is the best bet. Don't make it confusing by changing the button inputs like you would keybinds on a keyboard.

When it comes to preferences, Aim Response Curve Type is up to you. Standard keeps it simple, while Reverse S-Curve is for the movement players. If you're zipping around the map, that's the one you want.

Then lastly, another preference is the invert options. Feel free to adjust anything after testing them out, especially if you invert either the horizontal or vertical axis. Tweak things such as sensitivity to your liking if need be, but use these as a starting point.
