How to speak to the Restless Spirit in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

During your adventures on the island of Ashenfall in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, you might come across a Restless Spirit. The Restless Spirit is a bright blue, translucent NPC that you interact with, but can't speak to unless you have a specific item in your inventory. Veterans of RuneScape might have an inkling as to what this item is, but even they won't know where to look for it.

In the guide below, we'll show you exactly how to find the item to talk to the Restless Spirit in RuneScape: Dragonwilds and where you can find more Restless Spirits.

That's right, if you're a RuneScape veteran and you guessed that you need the Ghostspeak Amulet, congratulations, you win nothing but a badge of pride. And isn't that what really counts?

The Ghostspeak Amulet is the only item in RuneScape: Dragonwilds that you can use to freely communicate with the Restless Spirit. With it in your inventory, you can approach the spirit and have a conversation with them to learn about their past and what led to their demise.

To find the Ghostspeak Amulet, you have to travel to the middle of the Bramblemead Valley region in Dragonwilds. This is located to the east of the starting Temple Woods region, and it's a requirement to visit here to progress the main story. Bramblemead Valley is where the Wise Old Man is located, and it's the location where you likely set up your first base.

In Bramblemead Valley, you'll find a ruined town with plenty of rundown towers and other buildings. You'll also find plenty of goblins roaming the grounds. In the center of this town, there is a water well that you can approach and interact with. By interacting with the water well, you can pull out the Ghostspeak Amulet and add it to your inventory in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. You can see exactly where the water well is on the map in the screenshot below.

By picking up the Ghostspeak Amulet, you start the "Restless Ghosts" side quest, which you can access from the map screen.

Now that you have the Ghost Amulet, it's time to go and find a Restless Spirit to talk to.

While you might only think there's one Restless Spirit, that's not the case at all. There are several that we know of and there very well could be more waiting to be discovered throughout the map.

The easiest Restless Spirit to speak with after getting the Ghostspeak Amulet is located just southwest of the water well, as seen below.

At that spot on the map, you can find a Restless Spirit floating inside a ruined building. By speaking to them, you learn their name was Warren, and they died shortly after reaching Ashenfall.

Warren mentions you can find another Restless Spirit at a nearby windmill to the northwest. You'll know this windmill if you completed Vannaka's quest to kill Giant Rats earlier in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. The windwill is located to the north of the Temple Woods text on the map and the Restless Spirit there is found on the southeastern side of it.

This Restless Spirit's name is Lazina, and they died at the hands of a dragon on Ashenfall. However, Lazina also had a brother who is apparently buried in darkness beneath a southern point rising high in the sky. You have to continually solve these riddles to complete the Restless Ghosts side quest in RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
