Case the joint and prove your worth by stealing everything in sight after you join the Thieves Guild in Oblivion Remastered.
There are several guilds you can join in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. These give you quests, special merchants, and simply help you feel like you belong. One of the more popular factions to join in Oblivion Remastered is the Thieves Guild.
This guild can help you serve less jailtime, level up your lockpicking skills, and make some extra Gold by selling stolen goods. Let's go over how you can gain entry into this guild.
How you can join the Thieves Guild in Oblivion Remastered
For us, things started to fall into place once we were in the Imperial City. And it all happened by accident. Of course, you can now do what we did on accident totally on purpose to join the Thieves Guild in Oblivion Remastered.
We were trying to speak to a merchant over a counter at an inn. Instead, we accidentally swiped a bottle of ale from their business. When we exited, an Imperial guard was waiting and we did not have the Gold to pay the fine for stealing.
We opted for jailtime, where you can try and break out or simply sleep through the time you need to serve. We were released, got all of our belongings back, and around 10 p.m. in the Imperial City, a mysterious Argonian approached it.
She handed us a mysterious note that told us to meet somewhere if we wished at midnight. That location is just by the Lake of Rumore in the Garden of Dareloth. Waiting for us was Armand Christophe and two other hopefuls looking to join the Thieves Guild in Oblivion Remastered.

After telling Armand that you would like to join the Thieves Guild in Oblivion Remastered, he'll discuss a challenge for you three hopefuls. The goal is to steal from Amantius Allectus, without killing him or either of the two other wishing to join the guild.

Start the quest and follow these steps to complete it:
- Talk to the nearby beggar and ask about Amantius
- Offer up some coin to be given information about Amantius' home
- Head to the Temple District on the far east side
- Lockpick the door and enter, where you may find the other hopefuls already inside
- Hurry over to the desk against the far right wall
- Take the diary from it and get back to Armand
After you finish speaking with him, you will have officially joined the Thieves Guild in Oblivion Remastered. From there, you can take on special jobs after selling a certain threshold of stolen goods to Ongar.
