Marvel Rivals players are confused with the term "SVP" which is granted to one player after the matches conclude.
Although Marvel Rivals doesn't do a great job explaining what SVP means, it's essentially self-explanatory.
What does SVP mean in Marvel Rivals?
SVP stands for second valuable player.
The best player on the losing team always receives the SVP award, so it's a mere consolation prize. On the counterpart, one of the players in the winning team will always earn the MVP, which stands for most valuable player.

How to get an SVP in Marvel Rivals?
While the full criteria are unknown, generally speaking, the SVPs are either players who got a lot of eliminations and assists, someone who blocked a lot of damage, or someone who relentlessly provided generous amounts of healing for their team.
We see in the first screenshot below, for example, that Marvel Rivals gave the SVP to a player who got 13 assists and healed over 12,000 health points. In the second screenshot, the SVP was someone who got more eliminations on their team while tanking the most damage.
Is there any benefit in earning an SVP in Marvel Rivals?
The only benefit of earning an SVP is in ranked matches as the SVP never loses ranked points. Theoretically, this is an incentive for everyone to try their best despite losing the game.
So, If you're trying to climb the competitive ladder, be sure to play your A-game even if your team is dysfunctional or straight-out trolling.
