What kind of Honkai Star Rail team are you looking for?
With dozens of characters to choose from and endless permutations of party members, it might be hard to find the best team. Here are some of the best team compositions in Honkai Star Rail to get you started.
Honkai Star Rail team comps
These are simply team suggestions and do not guarantee the highest performance, especially in endgame content.
Break Team
The Break Team, consisting of Firefly, Ruan Mei, Tingyun - Fugue, and Lingsha is incredibly reliable. Both Ruan Mei and Fugue augment Firefly's already strong Break Effect, while Lingsha offers healing while acting as a secondary damage source.
This team is best used against a few enemies who have a large HP bar.
Replacements for Break Team
Ruan Mei and Fugue are practically un-substitutable in Break Teams. Luckily, you can get Ruan Mei for free! If you lack one of them, you can use Harmony Trailblazer instead.
For the other units:
- Firefly replacements: Rappa
- Rappa is the only viable replacement in place of Firefly. If the enemy is weak to Imaginary, then Rappa might be a better choice. Otherwise, Firefly might be your best bet.
- Lingsha replacements: Gallagher, Aventurine, Huohuo
- Gallagher is the best 4-star healer right now, and he fills in Lingsha's role in this team perfectly.

Follow-up Attack & AoE team
This Follow-up Attack & AoE team with The Herta, Jade, Tribbie, and Lingsha revolves around The Herta. Jade is a great secondary damage-dealer and is amazing when paired with The Herta. Tribbie performs a similar role to Jade.
This team is good against waves of multiple low-HP enemies, like those in Pure Fiction.
Replacements for FuA & AoE team
The only important part here is The Herta.
Here are some viable replacements for each unit:
- Jade replacements: Herta (4-star), Himeko, Serval

- Lingsha replacements: Aventurine, Huohuo, Gallagher
Memosprite/Summon buff team in Honkai Star Rail
This team of Aglaea, Robin, Sunday, and Huohuo focuses on buffing a character with a Memosprite (Aglaea, in this case). Due to this team's high Energy demand, Huohuo comes in handy.
Memosprite/Summon buff team replacements
Robin and Sunday are the cornerstones of this comp, but Sunday is the more important sibling. Having them both is the ideal scenario, of course.
- Aglaea replacements: Jing Yuan
- Jing Yuan may not be a Remembrance unit, but his Lightning Lord functions similarly.
- Huohuo replacements: Lingsha, Aventurine, Gallagher
- Huohuo is only here because of her ability to recharge allies' Energy. Without Aglaea and Sunday's high Energy demand, you can replace her with other sustain units.
- Robin replacements: Remembrance Trailblazer
- Robin's value can only be closely matched by the Remembrance Trailblazer and no one else.
