Squad Battle is a popular game mode in Halo Infinite, so let’s go over everything you need to know about it.

Do you enjoy Halo Infinite, but aren't one to dive into the ranked grind? And perhaps, you love the larger team modes in the game, but Big Team Battle is just a bit too big? Then you'll love Squad Battle in Halo Infinite.

It is a mode with more players on a team, also known as your squads, but not on the massive scale of Big Team Battle. It is instead an 8v8 mode that takes place entirely on community made maps. We'll tell you all about it and how to play.

Everything to know about Squad Battle in Halo Infinite

Squad Battle was a surprise addition to Halo Infinite in the middle of 2023. Since then, it has a become a staple in an area between the base 4v4 of Halo and its larger 12v12 game types. A fun refresh of the mode took place in the March update.

Community creations through Forge have brought back some familiar settings to play Squad Battle in Halo Infinite. With the refresh, the following maps are now in the playlist:

If Squad Battle in Halo Infinite sounds appealing to you, it is super easy to play. Here's how to do so:

  1. Load into Halo Infinite
  2. Select the Multiplayer option from the main menu
  3. Choose Squad Battle from the various playlists
  4. Hit the Play button to start matchmaking

It's that simple. Just make sure you're playing the objective to keep your teammates happy and to help bring home the victory.
