Was this year a downgrade? The best Genshin Impact characters of 2024

In 2023, miHoYo gave us beasts, characters that completely revolutionized the game: Alhaitham, Baizhu, Kirara, Lyney, Neuvillette, Wriothesley, Furina, and Navia. This year, well, we couldn't say the same. For many, some characters were pretty solid, but they didn't have the same impact as the others.

While in 2023 we had eight five stars, in 2024 we had ten and they didn't impact as much. Let's see what our top five characters of 2024 are.

Our honorable mention goes to Kinich - the only five-star male character launched in 2024, something that didn't seem right for some Reddit fans. Even though he started to grow for his amazing design and story, he was not that much appreciated overall.

Some people had already pulled for Mualani at the previous banner, which made them end up not pulling for him. In 5.1, he ended up being only used by 31,4% of the players at the abyss, unlike other 2024 characters like Xilonen or Arlecchino.

Xianyun was a huge surprise. We remember when she was leaked, everyone in the community was making a fuss out of it. Not only for how badly people wanted to see her since she appeared early in the game but also for the curiosity her gameplay grew in people.

She proved to be not only a beautiful character (who made justice to the grace of Cloud Retainer) but for her super interesting kit. For that, she deserved the fifth place on our podium.

Clorinde fed the fanbase for sure. Her design was astonishing, the color palette, her attitude and position in the Archon Quest, her style... She was amazing, overall.

We can definitely say that many people felt the desire to pull for her after her performance on the Archon Quest. Her gameplay was fun, people liked her mechanics overall, and she was a very solid character.

Mualani was the queen of damage. We never saw as many videos and showcases of damage as we saw with Mualani. Being a super strong character, Mualani came to the attention of many fans.

Not only for that, but also for her movement where she can ride the map on top of a cute shark. She became a super cool character in a short time. She was one of the best Genshin Impact characters launched in 2024.

We all love a woman in roller skates. Xilonen surprised everyone not only for her super cool movement skill but also for being a Geo character that buffs her team off-field.

She had so much success that she's one of the most used characters on the abyss by the 5.1 update alongside Furina, Zhongli, Neuvilette, and Kazuha with 81.8%.

Not only is she a weekly boss in the game, but she's THE BOSS in the game. Arlecchino made a strong debut as a new character in 2024, conquering everyone's hearts for her incredible presence in the archon quests and her strong and dominant gameplay.

We can't deny how powerful a character she is. She is one of the best Genshin Impact characters of 2024 (and one of the characters with the most beautiful design).
