The 14th edition of The International will be held in Hamburg, Germany.

This is the second time the pinnacle Dota 2 tournament takes place in Germany, which is very much the birthplace of TI itself. The first ever TI was held at Gamescom in Cologne, and while the event truly took off in Seattle, fans still reminisce over the event's first edition.

It is the fourth time TI will be hosted in Europe. It took place in Copenhagen, Denmark and was won by Team Liquid.

TI 2025 dates: When will TI take place?

TI 2025 will take place from Sept. 4 to 14, according to an April 1 update post from Valve. The post also revealed the format of the event, with TI 2025 split into two stages.

  • The Road to The International: Sept. 4 to 7, 16 teams

The opening stage, The Road to The International, will start with a five-round Swiss bracket. The 16 attendees will play best-of-three matches against teams with the same record (e.g. 1-1 teams play other 1-1 teams, 0-2 teams play other 0-2 teams, etc.). Four wins see teams progress to the playoffs, while four losses means elimination.

After the first three qualified teams have been found, the remaining teams (10, with six eliminated) will play a special elimination series, with higher-ranked teams drawn against lower-ranked teams. The five winners proceed to the playoffs; the five losers will be out.

  • The International (Playoffs): Sept. 11 to 14

The International itself sees the final eight teams seeded into a double-elimination bracket based on performance in the previous stage. All matches will be best-of-three, with the final a best-of-five.

Tickets for TI 2025 will be on sale April 15 at 10am CEST. Tickets can be bought from the AXS website, with single- and multi-day tickets available.

Exact ticket prices have not been shared yet. If it's anything like previous years, expect to fork out as much as $200 USD per day with discounts for multi-day bundles.

Fans have previously also been restricted from purchasing tickets in bulk to prevent scalpers or resellers from affecting ticket allocation. We'll know more about ticket prices and bundles before April 15's sale date, but be sure to get in quickly regardless as TI tends to sell out fast!
