Learn which Diablo 4 class may suit you the most this season.
Curious to know our take on a Diablo 4-tier list? You’re in the right place! It’s no surprise that every Diablo 4 class offers unique gameplay experiences. Each class has its strengths and weaknesses and encourages specific play styles.
Every major update has the potential to shake up class meta, so a good Diablo 4 tier list is ever-evolving. A historically inferior class may be at the top of the meta next season and become everyone’s go-to class for leveling up or endgame speed farming.
That said, choosing the best D4 build or class isn’t just about looking at the current meta. Several other attributes, such as the fun factor, play complexity, and even time commitment, can influence one’s decision. As such, we have diligently curated our Diablo 4 tier list, in which we rank all classes based on a multitude of notable factors.
Note: Our Diablo 4 tier list acknowledges the class balance changes and improvements made by Blizzard in Season 7.
Diablo 4 tier list: Best leveling-up classes

Before we get into our Diablo 4 tier list for leveling up, you may want first to check our criteria for this tier list:
- S-tier classes are powerful from the get-go, with or without early-game codex of power aspects. They have excellent survivability and are well-suited for solo play.
- A-tier classes are similarly powerful but are not necessarily at the top of the meta. In other words, they didn’t receive a major buff or a significant overhaul in the latest D4 season. They are still quite potent at clearing early-game content, solo or otherwise, and can provide a hassle-free leveling-up experience in Diablo 4.
- B-tier classes provide a modest leveling-up experience that you may or may not find fulfilling. These aren’t bad classes but are not the best for leveling up. They suffer from poor resource management and weak defenses and fail to exhibit their full potential early on in Diablo 4.

Spiritborn isn’t one-shotting everything in Diablo 4 anymore, courtesy of several nerfs and bug fixes in season 7. However, it’s still a strong and versatile class, especially early on, and can help you level up quickly. Most Spiritborn builds have a good defense and boast strong damage output, irrespective of the Spirit Guardians you choose.
Blizzard drastically improved Necromancer’s leveling-up experience after buffing minions' damage output in season 4. Since then, the undead class has continued to receive much love from the dev team and is now one of the best classes in the game for all activities.
Necromancer’s damage output more than makes up for its poor defense and lack of mobility, especially early on in the game, making it a solid class for leveling up.

Rogue has been consistently powerful in all Diablo 4 seasons, and not much has changed here. It’s still a tricky class to play, though most of its builds can easily clear early-game stuff.
Sorcerer is one of the most accessible and fun-to-play Diablo 4 classes. Its wide range of elemental abilities makes charging through most early-game stuff convenient. Also, since enemies don’t hit as hard here, Sorcerer’s weak defense will not hinder your progress.
Both Barbarian and Druid are two of the strongest endgame classes in Diablo 4 right now. However, their leveling-up experience remains severely lackluster, mainly due to their awful resource management, which doesn’t improve until you get the appropriate aspects and equipment.

Diablo 4 tier list: Best Endgame Classes

Here’s how we rank our D4 class tier for endgame:
- S-tier classes boast multiple exceptionally powerful builds that can tackle high-tier Pits, annihilate Torment bosses, and clear Helltides and other endgame activities with ease.
- A-tier classes are similarly powerful but with lesser build varieties for tackling Pits and Torment bosses. These are still surprisingly strong and reliable classes that can easily overcome most endgame challenges.
- B-tier classes are powerful but may struggle in higher-tier Pits and Torment boss encounters, especially solo. While they might not be as quick and efficient in the endgame, they are still pretty fun to play.

Most Necromancer builds can obliterate bosses and elites in Pits, making it an easy pick for endgame content. This class's damage output is insane, thanks to a multitude of excellent AoE and single-target abilities that you can buff further with appropriate passives and unique gear.
Add to that great CC, and Necromancer truly becomes the best on the battlefield, that too on its own. Builds like Blood Wave, Blood Surge, Bone Spirit, and Shadow Summoner are some of the most powerful builds in Diablo 4 right now.
It’s no surprise that Blizzard loves Rogue. Hence, despite several nerfs to its skills and passives in seasons 5 and 6, this is still one of the best-performing classes in Diablo 4.
Nothing is off-balance for Rogue. Most of its builds are fast-paced, have good defense and resource regeneration, and can simultaneously inflict CC tremendous AoE damage to enemies. Builds like Rain of Arrows, Flurry Overpower, and Dance of Knives are especially good at clearing high-level Pits.

Season 7 buffed several Druid and Barbarian abilities and passives and made their endgame builds far more powerful and deadly. Unlike before, these classes can easily trample most endgame activities like Pits at Torment 4 and Nightmare dungeons.
Ultimate-centric builds like Cataclysm and Hurricane for Druids are easy picks. Similarly, Hammer of the Ancients and Malestrom for Barbarians are excellent for endgame shenanigans.
Spiritborn was dramatically overpowered in season 6 but not so much in season 7. Blizzard fixed most of its exploits and nerfed several over-the-top damage-dealing abilities and passives.

Most of its builds, such as Quill Volley, are still good at clearing high-tier Pits, though they may struggle against some Torment 4 bosses. Overall, Spiritborn is still an excellent class, but it's not as efficient as others above it.
Sorcerer has received several build-breaking nerfs in the last few seasons, making it effectively the weakest endgame class in Diablo 4. In season 7, things went from bad to worse as Blizzard nerfed passives like Enlightenment and Primordial Binding. This significantly reduced the damage output of most Sorcerer builds.
While Sorcerer isn't the best class to push through Diablo 4’s endgame content right now, it’s not downright awful. Frost builds such as Frozen Orb and Ice Shards can still be incredibly powerful with the appropriate aspects and gear setup.
That sums up our Diablo 4 class tier list. We will update this article when season 8 arrives.
