We've dived into the firing range to find stats for each weapon. Then, we've broken down each category and highlighted some interesting info of each weapon class.

Assault rifles

Apex Gun Stats Sheet - Assault Rifles

Assault rifles are the jack of all trades weapons. They excel at medium range, however they can work at close or long ranges just as easy. Surprisingly, Assault Rifles have stayed consistent as they haven't had many big changes in recent patches. With only a recent slight damage change to the flatline, Assault Rifles have been a consistent staple in the Apex games.

Assault rifles include:

  • Havoc Rifle
  • VK-47 Flatline
  • Hemlock Burst AR
  • R-301 Carbine

In terms of damage, the Hemlock reigns at the top. Although members of the community have been preaching the power of the Hemlock, the message has never really sunk in. The Hemlock burst fire takes some getting used to, but it outclasses the other AR's in terms of damage at 35 to the head, 20 to the body and 15 to limbs per shot. But, in terms of fire rate, the R-301 still remains at the top.

Sub Machine Guns

Apex Gun Stats Sheet - SMGs

Towards the end of season 11, the Volt had gained tons of popularity and became the go-to SMG. However in Apex Season 12, the Volt moved into the Care Package. Meaning that now, the remaining Sub Machine guns were on a relatively even playing ground in our Apex Gun Stats Sheet.

SMGs include:

  • Alternator SMG
  • Prowler Burst PDW
  • R-99 SMG
  • Volt SMG
  • C.A.R. SMG

Its a tight race between the ground loot SMG weapons. All have a similar damage profile, ranging from 17-24 for headshots and 11-16 for body shots. However, the difference between the high damaging SMG and the low ones are the fire rates.

In that category, the R99 and the Alternator lie at each side of the spectrum. However, in terms of the best all round SMG, the C.A.R. stands at the top. As it combines a good damage profile with a fast fire rate: the best of both worlds so to speak.

Light Machine Guns - Apex Gun Stats Sheet

Light Machine guns used to be a rare sight, only seeing them once in a blue moon. However, since the inclusion of the Rampage and buffs to the Spitfire in season 9 and onward, they've gained popularity. Now in season 13 and the return of the Spitfire, Apex Legends has now turned into Spitfire Legends.

LMGs include:

  • Devotion LMG
  • L-STAR LMG
  • M600 Spitfire
  • Rampage LMG

In terms of damage profile, its no surprise that the Rampage outclasses the other LMGs (yes, even the Spitfire). The Rampage was a menace back in Season 10 when it was released and is still a menace despite its nerfs. However, with its move the care package in season 13 and the return of the Spitfire, the Rampage sees rare usage.

Marksman Weapons - Apex Gun Stats Sheet

The newest class of weapons, Marksmen weapons attempt to combine the long range supremacy of the Sniper class weapons with the ADS and fire rate benefits of Assault Rifles. In blending these features the Marksmen weapons tend to be lower in damage than snipers, but fire faster and have better movement than snipers.

Marksmen Weapons include:

  • G7 Scout
  • Triple Take
  • 30-30 Repeater
  • Bocek Compound Bow

On paper Marksmen weapons seem great with iconic Apex weapons like the Triple Take and the G7 Scout. However, in this case its better to lean towards either the high damage and long distance of snipers or the fast firing medium ranged Assault Rifles.

Although the Marksmen weapons have a great concept to them, they typically are hard and boring to use in comparison to other weapons.

Sniper Rifles

In a fast paced battle royale game like Apex Legends, it would seem that Sniper Rifles have no place. However, this is far from the truth as we can see from our Apex Gun Stats Sheet.

The kings of long range engagements with their high damage are quite the popular secondary weapon. Snipers in Apex have unique features, weather its hit scanning, amping or just insane damage which make them a viable secondary option.

Sniper Rifles include:

  • Charge Rifle
  • Longbow DMR
  • Kraber .50-Cal Sniper
  • Sentinel

Apex has some pretty unique snipers with one of a kind features that do insane amounts of damage. Its no surprise that the Kraber and Charge Rifle are great snipers. But what stands out is the underused feature of the Sentinel: Amping. By consuming shield cells, the Sentinel increase its damage by 25% which can pump out surprisingly high amount of damage. Although it only lasts 8 shots or 120 seconds, that can be more than enough in a fight.

Pistols - Apex Gun Stats Sheet

Thankfully with the return of Hammerpoint rounds Pistols are all on a even playing ground. Although its no news that the Wingman still reigns at the top. But now, Hammerpoints provide an additional 50% bonus damage for the P2020 and 35% bonus damage for the RE-45 to unshielded targets. Meaning that the the RE-45 and P2020 with Hammerpoints can contend with the infamous Wingman.

Pistols include:

  • P2020
  • RE-45
  • Wingman

The Wingman is one of Apex's most iconic weapons. The deagle-like pistol can output tons of damage but you need to be accurate, which is no surprise. But on the other hand, the P2020 and RE-45 can really put in the work as a close range secondary with Hammerpoint rounds. The damage is surprising, especially with the fast fire rate of the two weapons. With the P2020 hitting for 41 and the RE-45 hitting for 24 to the head, they can really shred an unshielded target.
